ArmaFlex Ultima Self-Seal is Armacell's low-smoke, closed-cell flexible elastomeric pipe insulation for HVAC, refrigeration and process applications where enhanced fire performance is required. Based on ArmaPrene technology, Ultima produces approximately 10 times less smoke than a standard elastomeric product and self-adhesive tubes achieve a B(L)-s1,d0 reaction-to-fire classification.

Each 2m tube is pre-slit with a factory-applied pressure-sensitive self-adhesive longitudinal closure. Armacell specifies that self-adhesive tubes should additionally be secured with ArmaFlex Ultima tape. For bonded joints and fabricated sections, ArmaFlex Ultima ECO550 and ArmaFlex Ultima 700 are the certified adhesives for this system.

Installation

Open the pre-slit tube, locate it over the pipe and press the factory self-adhesive seam firmly closed. Armacell specifies additional securing of self-adhesive tubes with ArmaFlex Ultima tape. For bonded joints and fabricated sections, use ArmaFlex Ultima ECO550 or ArmaFlex Ultima 700 in accordance with Armacell installation guidance.
