Can I use Armaflex tape instead of adhesive?
For most butt joints and longitudinal seams, Armaflex 520 adhesive gives a stronger, more reliable bond. Armaflex tape is best used for repairs, finishing edges and sealing joints in locations where applying adhesive is impractical.
Is Armaflex tape waterproof?
Yes. Armaflex tape is made from closed-cell elastomeric rubber with a very low water vapour permeability, making it resistant to moisture and suitable for use on cold pipework where condensation control is required.
What width of Armaflex tape do I need?
Standard Armaflex tape is available in 50mm width, which is suitable for most pipe insulation joint sealing and repair applications. Wider tape may be used for sheet insulation edge finishing.
Can Armaflex tape be used outdoors?
Standard Armaflex tape is not UV-stable and should be protected from direct sunlight in outdoor installations. For exposed outdoor applications, use an appropriate UV-resistant jacketing or coating over the tape.
