Armaflex Rail Pipe Insulation — EN 45545 Fire Rated for Rolling Stock

Armaflex Rail is Armacell's specialist range of elastomeric foam pipe insulation developed specifically for rail vehicle applications, meeting the stringent EN 45545 fire safety standard for rolling stock. Part of the Armaflex range, these products combine the proven thermal and vapour performance of Armaflex with the fire, smoke and toxicity requirements demanded by rail operators and vehicle manufacturers across Europe.

Two products are available — Armaflex Rail SD for standard density applications and Armaflex Rail ZH-C for zero halogen, high-performance installations — covering the full range of pipe sizes used in rolling stock HVAC, water and refrigeration systems.

The Armaflex Rail Range

Armaflex Rail SD — Low smoke density elastomeric foam for rail vehicle applications. Meets EN 45545 Hazard Level requirements for rolling stock. Suitable for HVAC, water supply and refrigeration pipework in trains, trams and metro vehicles. Available in standard and self-seal (SD-C) versions
Armaflex Rail ZH-C — Zero halogen, self-seal elastomeric foam for the most demanding rail fire safety specifications. Produces no toxic halogen gases in the event of fire. Meets the highest EN 45545 Hazard Level requirements. Specified for high-speed rail, underground metro and passenger rolling stock where maximum fire safety is required

Use Armaflex Rail SD or ZH-C when the application is rolling stock or rail vehicles requiring EN 45545 compliance
Use Armaflex Ultima for fixed rail infrastructure, tunnels, stations and buildings requiring Euroclass B-s1,d0 low smoke performance
Use Armaflex EVO for standard commercial HVAC, heating and plumbing where Class O is sufficient
