Armacell Tubolit DG Pipe Insulation – Polyethylene Foam Lagging
How to measure?
Pipe insulation sizes refer to the outside diameter of the pipe — not the bore (internal diameter).
|←— OD —→|Wrap a tape measure around the pipe, divide by π (3.14) to get the OD. Or use calipers across the outside of the pipe directly.
Armacell Tubolit DG Pipe Insulation – Polyethylene Foam Lagging
Tubolit DG is Armacell's flexible closed-cell polyethylene foam (PEF) pipe insulation for heating and plumbing services. It is designed to reduce heat loss, help limit condensation under suitable conditions and reduce structure-borne noise from pipework.
This listing includes 1m single lengths and selected full-box options. Choose the required pipe outside diameter, insulation thickness and purchase unit from the variant selector.
Key Features
- Material: closed-cell polyethylene foam (PEF) to EN 14313
- Maximum service temperature: +100°C for Tubolit DG tubes
- Declared thermal conductivity: λd ≤ 0.040 W/(m·K) at 40°C for Tubolit DG tubes 5–30mm
- Reaction to fire: Euroclass EL for standard tubes to EN 13501-1
- Acoustic performance: can reduce structure-borne sound transmission in plumbing installations
- Closed-cell construction: suitable for heating and plumbing applications where a lightweight, flexible insulation is required
Applications
- Domestic and light-commercial heating pipework
- Hot-water services
- Cold-water pipework where application conditions are suitable
- Pipework passing through or adjacent to building materials such as plaster or screed
- Noise-reduction applications on plumbing services
Important Application Note
Armacell states that, under certain conditions such as high humidity, main distribution pipework or pipes with constant or near-constant flow, cold-water pipework should be insulated with ArmaFlex rather than Tubolit DG, in the same way as chilled-water pipework in air-conditioning systems.
For chilled-water, refrigeration or applications where vapour control is critical, use a suitable closed-cell elastomeric insulation system specified for that duty.
Installation
Cut neatly to length and fit closely around the pipework. Butt joints should be tight and the insulation should be installed in accordance with current Armacell guidance. Select wall thickness according to the service temperature, ambient conditions and the required thermal performance.
Purchase Options
