Protect your outdoor pipework with Armaflex HT Solar Pipe Insulation, a high-performance solution engineered for extreme temperatures and harsh outdoor conditions. This 2m-long, un-split tube is manufactured from factory-made flexible elastomeric foam based on ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), in accordance with EN 14304. Designed for high-temperature applications up to +150°C, it offers exceptional UV resistance and durability. Available in 10mm, 13mm, 19mm, and 25mm thicknesses for pipe sizes from 10mm to 89mm, it's the ideal choice for solar panels, HVAC systems, hot gas lines, and steam lines.

Unmatched UV Resistance & Durability

Armaflex HT Solar Pipe Insulation is crafted from black EPDM foam rubber, a material renowned for its superior UV resistance and weatherproof properties. UV resistance testing has shown excellent results — when used on outdoor applications, the materials showed very good durability even under UV exposure. However, due to the unpredictable nature of outdoor conditions, installations in extreme environments (regions of extreme weather conditions like high mountains etc.) cannot be recommended.   • Superior UV Resistance: EPDM foam rubber withstands UV radiation and weathering without cracking or crumbling, eliminating the need for additional protective coverings or painting.
  • Exceptional Durability: Retains flexibility and thermal performance across a full service temperature range of -50°C to +150°C, making it ideal for solar applications, hot gas lines, and steam systems.
  • Self-Adhesive Coating: Features a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on an acrylate basis with non-woven fabric, covered with polyethylene foil for reliable, seamless installation. Note: traces of silicone may be present on the paper/foil protecting self-adhesive closures.
  • Condensation Control: The built-in vapour barrier prevents condensation on chilled water lines and refrigerated pipework, reducing the risk of corrosion under insulation (CUI).
  • Low Thermal Conductivity: Declared thermal conductivity λd ≤ 0.042 W/(m·K) at 40°C for tubes, and λd ≤ 0.045 W/(m·K) at 40°C for sheets/tapes, minimising heat loss and improving energy efficiency.
  • Fire Safety: Reaction to fire classification D(L)-s3,d0 for tubes and D-s3,d0 for sheets/tape (EN 13501-1). Self-extinguishing, does not drip, does not spread flames. Class 1 resistance to flame spread (BS 476 Part 7). Passes UL 94 V-0 (IEC 60695-11-10).

Applications

Armaflex HT Solar Pipe Insulation is specifically designed for thermal insulation of pipes, vessels, and ducts in solar collectors (including outdoors), motor vehicles, hot gas lines, steam lines, and dual temperature lines. Its UV resistance and durability make it ideal for external pipework exposed to sunlight, such as solar heating systems and air conditioning lines.
