How to measure?
Measure the Outside Diameter (OD)
Pipe insulation sizes refer to the outside diameter of the pipe — not the bore (internal diameter).
Wrap a tape measure around the pipe, divide by π (3.14) to get the OD. Or use calipers across the outside of the pipe directly.

Frost Prevention Kits
Everything you need to protect your outside pipes and taps!
Our frost prevention kits are available in a number of configurations to suit a range of external pipe lengths and sizes.
Each Kit includes:
- A heating cable to run along the length of your pipe.
- Insulation to wrap around your external Pipe
- A roll of Insulation Tape to seal the insulation joints
- A Protective Tap Jacket - will fit most sizes of outside taps
Please choose the kit suitable for your own setup.
The heater cables are available in either 3 or 5 metre lengths and the insulation is available to suit 22, 28 and 35mm diameter pipes - the most common size of outdoor condensate pipes.
Kit Specification:
Flexelec Stopgel Complete Pipe Heating Kit (either 3m or 5m length)
When properly fitted, the heating cables come into operation at +5°C and will protect your installation against freezing.
Technical Details:
- Voltage 230V – 50Hz.
- Double insulation.
- Protection class II.
- Permissible service temperature from -30°C to +80°C.
- Complete kit for easy installation.
- Power rating 15W/m.
- Flat section 5 x 7mm for better heat transfer.
- 1 metre long power supply section at one end only.
- Includes plug, installation tape, cable ties and warning sticker for pipework.
Armaflex Selfseal Class O Pipe Insulation
Top quality Nitrile Foam Pipe Insulation from the industry leader, Armacell Armaflex. Easy to install — just cut to desired length, place around your pipe, remove the adhesive protection and stick the edges together.
Armaflex Insulation Tape
A 15 metre roll of adhesive insulation tape — made from the same Nitrile Foam as the supplied insulation. Ideal for sealing any insulation joints and gaps.
Stormguard External Tap Jacket
This product is designed specifically as a one size fits all solution to the annual problem of frozen outdoor taps. Many people remember to insulate their outdoor water pipes but completely forget that the attached garden tap is a prime candidate for freezing!
