How to measure?
Measure the Outside Diameter (OD)
Pipe insulation sizes refer to the outside diameter of the pipe — not the bore (internal diameter).
Wrap a tape measure around the pipe, divide by π (3.14) to get the OD. Or use calipers across the outside of the pipe directly.

The Armaflex Home Thermal Insulation Sheet is a versatile, closed-cell elastomeric foam solution for temperature control and moisture protection. Available in four thicknesses to suit your project requirements — each roll is sized to provide practical coverage for van conversions, campervan builds, and general thermal insulation applications.
- 10mm (10m² per roll) — Ideal for warmer climates and summer use, providing an effective barrier against radiant heat. The generous 10m² coverage makes it well-suited for full van floor, wall, and ceiling coverage in a single roll.
- 19mm (6m²per roll) — A mid-range thickness offering enhanced thermal performance for year-round use, balancing insulation depth with coverage area.
- 25mm (4m² per roll) — Recommended for colder climates and winter builds where greater thermal resistance is required. Best applied to walls and ceilings where space allows.
- 32mm (3m²per roll) — Maximum thickness for the highest level of thermal insulation. Ideal for extreme cold environments or where superior energy retention is the priority.
For a standard van conversion, we advise ordering between 3 to 5 rolls depending on your vehicle size, wheelbase, and chosen thickness to ensure full coverage of the floor, walls, and ceiling.
