Armaflex HT Coils Outdoor Solar
Armaflex HT Coils are Armacell's specialist closed-cell elastomeric foam insulation in coil format, engineered for outdoor solar thermal and heat pump pipework. Unlike standard Armaflex EVO, HT grade is formulated to withstand continuous operating temperatures up to +150°C and prolonged UV and weathering exposure — making it the correct specification for solar collector circuits, outdoor heat pump primary pipework and any exposed external installation.
Why Armaflex HT for Solar and Outdoor Applications?
- High temperature rated — continuous operating temperature -50°C to +150°C, suitable for solar thermal collector circuits where standard elastomeric foam would degrade
- UV and weather resistant — HT grade resists UV degradation and weathering without additional cladding, unlike standard Armaflex which requires protection when exposed
- Built-in vapour barrier — closed-cell structure with μ ≥ 7,000 prevents moisture ingress and condensation on chilled circuits
- Class O fire rated — BS 476 Part 6 & 7, suitable for commercial and domestic solar installations
- Flexible and lightweight — bends around fittings and changes of direction without cutting, significantly faster to install than rigid insulation
