The high closed cell content of our Phenolic insulation gives a very high resistance to moisture penetration, with the option of aluminium foil. The thermal efficiency reduces the necessary thickness requirement, providing a low K value, saving energy and CO2 emissions. Our Phenolic range benefits from low flame spread, low smoke emission and gives off virtually no toxic fumes.
Standards Include: BS4370, BS476 Part 6 and Part 7-Results conform to Class O of the UK Building Regulations, Epiradiateur-M1, ASTM E84 25/50 Flame & Smoke-up to 3 inches thick, NEN 6065/6066-Klasse 1/2 and DIN4102-B1
Phenolic Insulation is a high performance phenolic thermal pipe insulation which meets the requirements of BS3927 and is used primarily for the lagging of chilled, cold, hot and heating pipe work. Phenolic Insulation is highly thermally efficient with an independently tested K value (thermal conductivity) of 0.021 W/m·K at 10C mean temperature. Phenolic Insulation has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). Supaphen is closed cell, resisting moisture ingress. Phenolic Insulation is fire and smoke safe. Independently tested to BS476 parts 6 & 7 meeting the requirements of Class 0 to UK Building Regulations. Phenolic Insulation is manufactured as a rigid block at a standard density of 40kg/m3. Pipe sections are then cut from these blocks to very close tolerances ensuring a close fit to the pipe. Phenolic Insulation is impregnated with sodium silicate at the foam manufacturing stage which ensures the silicate is present throughout the product. Additionally, and in line with many major engineering specifications, the inner bore of Phenolic Insulation pipe sections are treated with a factory applied dust suppressing, passivating bore coating solution. Phenolic Insulation is the “first” product of its kind to utilise both an impregnated sodium silicate in the foam and a factory applied bore coating on the cut pipe sections. The factory applies a plain Class 0 aluminium foil vapour barrier to the Phenolic Insulation pipe sections. Other facings available on request. Phenolic Insulation is also available in higher densities for the manufacture of load bearing thermally insulating pipe supports. |
